Amersham School have been awarded the Youth Sport Trust – Gold Quality

 Amersham School has been awarded the Youth Sport Trust Gold Quality Mark for its commitment to Physical Education and school sport.  The Quality Mark is a nationally recognised badge of excellence for the quality of its PE and school sport. The PE facilities at Amersham School comprise a spacious state of the art sports hall, dance studio, fitness suite and a variety of external pitches and courts.

Amersham School prides themselves on providing high quality sporting and fitness opportunities for all students and staff.  Extra-curricular opportunities are available before, during and after school with an aim to encourage participation and inclusion through sport.  They also provide essential sporting and fitness opportunities in the local community by a dedicated school sports co-ordinator who facilitates a wide variety of multi skills festivals in the local community and over 800 school children participate at primary school level. Through participation of sports and games, students gain valuable leadership and teamwork skills alongside supporting mental health and physical fitness.

The health and wellbeing benefits from exercise are embedded into the curriculum and Mrs Jarrett, Head Teacher, enthused “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the Gold Quality Mark from the Youth Sport Trust, which recognises our commitment to delivering the best possible sporting experiences for our students.”
